"I will slice your face up," Shannon Hoani Martin told his girlfriend over the phone from Wanganui Prison. The 35-year-old was just about to finish a prison sentence when he got into a phone argument with his partner about unfaithfulness. "I'm going to smash you over next week," he told his partner. "Expect a hiding next week." One guilty plea and letter of apology later and Martin was walking out of the Whanganui District Court with an 80 hour community work sentence.
