Admissions resume after rocky start at prison medical facility |

STOCKTON - The nation's largest medical prison will once again receive new patients, nearly six months after new admissions were halted when problems with care, sanitation and other areas arose at the California Health Care Facility. The $839 million facility on the outskirts of Stockton was not open for long before a court-appointed receiver overseeing prison health care in the state in February ceased admissions, saying at the time the facility couldn't provide sufficient and timely hygiene and medical supplies to patients.
