Escaped Humboldt County jail inmate Ronald Sanchez Jr. was arrested today at his Eureka residence shortly after escaping a citizen's arrest in the Burr Valley area a few days prior, according to Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Detective Sam Williams. Williams said the arrest was made with the aid of the California Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshals Office's fugitive apprehension team, with whom he said he built a good working relationship when tracking down Sanchez Jr.'s younger brother Silverio Sanchez, who is accused of attempted murder of a U.S. Forest Service officer among other criminal charges. "When Ronald walked away, they were just extremely helpful and took the lead on the tracking portion, and we just worked together, exchanging information," Williams said. "And there was a lot of information being exchanged. A couple of other tracking methods were used. It all was just a group effort, a lot of hard work and it paid off today." Read More. |
