Gouverneur prison inmate accused of forging court documents |

GOUVERNEUR — State police on Thursday charged Robert A. Horton, 38, an inmate at the Gouverneur Correctional Facility, with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class D felony, and first-degree offering a forged instrument for filing and second-degree perjury, both class E felonies. Following an investigation that began as a result of a June 17 report, troopers allege that while incarcerated, Mr. Horton forged a court document in an attempt to overturn a grand larceny indictment from Chemung County Court. Troopers said that on the court document, Mr. Horton had forged the judge’s name in an attempt to use it to get out of prison. Read More. |
