Clark County detectives investigating inmate’s death |

JEFFERSONVILLE — A man arrested for violation of his parole Sunday died at Clark Memorial Hospital on Monday, and investigators are still trying to identify the cause of death. Michael Wayne Maddex, 36, was in a holding cell in the Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex early Monday afternoon when he began to exhibit symptoms of “something similar to a seizure,” said Clark County Sheriff’s Department Detective Scottie Maples. Jail corrections officers first noticed Maddex’s medical problems at 12:45 p.m., and the jail’s nurse practitioner called for emergency medical services at 1:03 p.m. Yellow Ambulance arrived three minutes later and transported Maddex to Clark Memorial Hospital, where the Department of Correction took custody of him.
