Cameron inmates charged in two cases

Inmates in two state corrections facilities in Cameron were charged with committing violence against others in two separate cases filed Monday.

Derek Vaughan, 24, originally of Independence, Mo., is facing a charge of committing violence against an employee of the Department of Corrections and Sease Beard, 18, originally of Corder, Mo., faces a charge of committing violence against an offender in the Department of Corrections. Both charges are classified as Class B felonies.

According to the Department of Corrections website, Mr. Vaughan is an inmate at Crossroads Correctional Center, serving a 30-year sentence for second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Crossroads Correctional Center is a maximum-security prison.
