$224 million Alabama inmate health care contract bidding process favored sole bidder |

The bidding process for Alabama's $224 million inmate health care contract may have been biased towards the sole vendor that bid for it, a letter sent to prison officials alleges. Wexford Health Sources executive Edward McNeil wrote the letter to Alabama's top prison health care official Ruth Naglich in August 2012 to explain why Wexford did not compete for the work. Three months later, Alabama Department of Corrections attorney Anne Hill refuted the claims in a letter to McNeil, calling them "misunderstandings." Read More. |
