Hunterdon County Jail earns 100 percent rating from state inspectors

FLEMINGTON -- The Hunterdon County Jail received a 100 percent rating in its recent annual inspection.

State code requires each jail be inspected once a year to insure compliance with the regulations, and personnel from the state Department of Corrections visited the jail in Flemington Aug. 5-8.

The team evaluates the facility in more than 200 categories which include inmate housing standards, the physical condition of the jail and officer training requirements. Preparation for the annual inspection is a continuous effort, said John Paulmeno, county correctional administrator.
