DOC to investigate officer stabbing at prison |

FREELAND, MI (WNEM) - A Saginaw County corrections officer is recovering after being viciously attacked by an inmate on Friday. Union president Tom Tylutki said fellow officers believe the attack could have been prevented. "They believe if that third officer was in there, like they've had for years, this wouldn't have happened," Tylutki said. The prison is down 10 correction officers from a year ago, leaving 188 officers to oversee nearly 1,500 inmates. Read More. |
