BOISE -- Election season is around the corner and candidates are doing what they can to vie for your votes. Saturday, the A.J. Balukoff campaign released a brand new ad state-wide that paints a very negative picture of how Governor Butch Otter handled things with the Corrections Corporation of America. "Corrections Corporation of America violated a multi-million dollar state prison contract, falsified reports and bilked Idaho taxpayers of millions," the ad states. The prison did have a reputation of violence among the inmates, some of whom called it the "gladiator school." A federal judge said the prison was persistently understaffed, violating a legal settlement. Read More. |
