| Investigation into jail suicide shows no wrongdoing by guards |

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) -- The investigation into a Portage County inmate’s suicide earlier this summer is over. Convicted murderer Jose Luis Flores Aca hung himself in a Portage County Jail cell July 6th at around 11:30 p.m. He had managed to make a noose from strips of bed sheets, and hooked them over a wood screw that was not supposed to be in the cell. Since it happened in the jail operated by the Sheriff’s Department, the City of Stevens Point Police Department was called in to do the death investigation. Read More. |
