Michigan corrections officers protest staff cuts following prisoner attack on guard |

TITTABAWASSEE TOWNSHIP, Michigan — Michigan corrections officers are protesting staffing cuts that they say led to an attack on a guard near Saginaw last week. Nearly 100 members of a state corrections officers union rallied on Thursday near the Saginaw Correctional Facility in Tittabawassee Township. They say a lack of officers has caused a safety and security crisis at the prison. Officials say a prisoner bludgeoned Kevin Ott in the head and stabbed him several times on Oct. 17.
