Miscalculated prison sentences: 52 who were released early may be in line for added time |

Fifty-two prisoners who were improperly released from prison early might end up having to serve more time. All of the prisoners committed crimes during the time they should have been in prison, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said Thursday. The finding comes after a review of inmate records — part of the fallout from a June 15 World-Herald investigation. That investigation revealed that, for nearly two decades, prison officials had miscalculated the release dates of some of the state’s most serious offenders.
