MSU recognized by Little Sandy Correctional Complex |

During a ceremony held at Little Sandy Correctional Complex, Morehead State University was recognized with a hard-carved plaque to celebrate the cooperative relationship between the prison and university. The plaque was made by inmates in the prison’s woodworking class, just one of the vocational opportunities offered at the medium-security men’s prison in Elliott County. MSU was specifically praised for helping launch the Prison Exchange program “Inside-Out” at LSCC. Inside-Out is a college course inside the prison that pairs undergraduates with inmates to study as peers State Rep. Rocky Adkins, Corrections Commissioner LaDonna Thompson, MSU President Dr. Wayne D. Andrews, LSCC Warden Joseph Meko and Steve Ison, education administrator at the prison, took part in the event along with several MSU personnel. Read More. |
