Man arrested after escaping Shawnee County Jail |

A man was arrested after allegedly fleeing from the Shawnee County Jail Wednesday. Jail spokesman Maj. Tim Phelps said Joseph Hill, 21, “walked away from the minimum custody annex” about 5:25 p.m. Hill fled from the annex, “while taking out garbage. He fled on foot in a south east direction,” according to a release from the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office. According to Phelps, officers saw Hill leave and immediately called from help from the Topeka Police Department and the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office. Read More. |
