New state corrections chief visits Charlotte Hall facility |

Stephen T. Moyer, the new Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services secretary, is traveling across the state to visit parole and probation offices and correctional facilities, meet with employees and make any adjustments he sees are needed. On April 24, Southern Maryland Pre-release Unit facility administrator David Towers greeted Moyer and Judith Sachwald, Division of Parole and Probation director, during their stop at the facility in Charlotte Hall. “He’s been all around the state, and he’s meeting with people in the department just to say hi,” Towers said. “He’s starting to assemble people to carry out his vision for the department. He’s in the beginning of that, trying to assess what needs to be done and where we need to go.” Read More. |
