ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis City Police say a state corrections officer was shot while he was on his way to the bus stop Thursday morning. The shooting happened on North Broadway, near the Bissinger's around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. The officer is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was shot in the leg. The victim was in full uniform, according to police on scene. But, police say they do not believe the attack was targeted. The victim started a conversation with another man around the bus stop, before the corrections officer eventually realized he was about to be robbed. Read More. |
