Corrections officers, detainees injured in jail riot |

Eight correctional officers and six detainees were injured in a prison riot in Baltimore Sunday night. The incident started with a verbal altercation between an officer and a detainee housed at the Baltimore Pre-Trial Complex, according to a release. At about 10 p.m., a fight broke out between a group of detainees who refused to lock into their dorms and corrections officers. “The detainees then attacked the officers and some fellow detainees before barricading themselves in the dorms,” the release states.
