CRAIGSVILLE - Two correctional officers were injured Sunday at the Augusta Correctional Center in Craigsville while escorting an inmate, the Virginia Department of Corrections said. Details were scant, but DOC spokesperson Lisa Kinney said the two officers were hospitalized on the day of the incident and released No charges were filed. On Jan. 30, there was a police scanner report of an inmate being stabbed at the Craigsville prison. However, at the time, Kinney would neither confirm nor deny that the incident took place, and explained in an email that any "information regarding an altercation between offenders is part of the offenders’ record of imprisonment that the (DOC) doesn't release."
