AMHERST, Va. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after they say an inmate was found dead in a courthouse holding cell. The Virginia State Police said in a statement that 23-year-old Aaron M. Steele of Campbell County was found dead Thursday morning in a holding cell at the Amherst County courthouse. Police spokeswoman Corrine Geller says Steele had been taken to the courthouse, where he was awaiting his hearing in the cell. Read More. |
