SAN DIEGO - Authorities asked the public Monday to keep an eye out for an inmate who escaped from a jail facility in Otay Mesa over the weekend. Corrections officers discovered Demetrius B. Robertson was missing from Facility Eight, a facility located next to George Bailey Detention Facility on Alta Road, during a head count Sunday, according to sheriff's officials. Sources told 10News the inmate had gone missing around 3 p.m. and other law enforcement agencies were not notified until several hours later, around 8 p.m. His footsteps were traced to the nearby U.S. Olympic Training Center where it appeared he may have been been picked up at a park in the vicinity.
