Center to bring New Hope to female inmates |

VALDOSTA — Three women want to create a place where female inmates can transition from prison back into society. Patti Sutton, Donna Norton and Brooke Harrison are developing the concept of a women’s transitional center they plan to call New Hope Horizons. Sutton and Norton serve as area missionaries, regularly visiting female inmates at the Lowndes County Jail. Harrison has worked at an area rehab center for women. And while there are rehab centers for women facing addictions and area facilities providing male inmates a place to transfer from incarceration to free society, there are no centers to help paroled women or women in probation, they said.
