| SCC to receive Department of Corrections award |

LINCOLN--This Wednesday, Southeast Community College will receive the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Partnership Award for 2016. The award will be presented SCC on Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. in the State Capitol Rotunda during the NDCS Annual Awards Ceremony. Dr. Dennis Headrick, SCC’s vice president for instruction, will accept the award on behalf of the College, in part because of his placement of the welding apprenticeship program at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. The metal shop and SCC instructors help inmates gain valuable skills and trades so they are better prepared to successfully re-enter society. Read More. |
