Escaped inmate who carjacked driver may be armed, sheriff says |

CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. —An inmate who escaped Tuesday morning and carjacked a motorist may be armed, according to the sheriff. Blake Rochester, 25, escaped from the Livesay Correctional Institution in Spartanburg Tuesday morning, according to the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Cherokee County Sheriff Steve Mueller said Rochester carjacked a driver in Spartanburg and then abandoned the vehicle on Old Race Track Road in Cherokee County.
