The mother convicted for allowing her baby's father and uncle to rape and kill 5 month old Brianna is a free woman. But KOB 4 learned that Stephanie Lopez wasn't always on her best behavior behind bars. According to the New Mexico Department of Corrections, Lopez got into trouble nearly every year from 2005 to 2016. Some infractions were fighting, drug and contraband possession, even a sexual misconduct violation in 2016 for showering with another inmate. She lost "good time" for those violations. But Lopez also took opportunities to earn back "good time" like earning her associate's degree and taking job skills classes. Lopez was also sentenced under a law in 2003 that allowed her to earn a day of "good time" for each day of prison time. Read More. |
