| Police arrest escapee from Tulsa halfway house |

A man who reportedly escaped from the Tulsa Transitional Center earlier this week is back in custody. Tulsa police arrested Johnny Clifton Payne, 54, at the QuikTrip near Sheridan Road and Admiral Place around 11 p.m. Thursday. He was booked into the Tulsa Jail on an escape complaint and has a hold for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. An arrest report states Payne failed to return to the halfway house, located at 302 W. Archer St., around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday after he left on an approved job search. Read More. |
