State prison inmate accused of calling in fake bomb threats at two Miramar schools |

An inmate at a South Florida state prison is accused of calling in several fake bomb threats at the two Miramar schools his ex-girlfriend's children attend, according to a search warrant obtained by the Sun Sentinel. Gilberto Franque, 34, is accused of calling in threats to Sunshine Elementary School and Miramar High School during August and September using two prepaid cellphones inside the Dade Correctional Institution in Florida City. The threats were called in on Aug. 26, Aug. 29 and Sept. 1, according to the warrant. On one occasion, an anonymous caller said, "There is a bomb in your school and it will go off in 30 minutes," the warrant said. Another time, the caller told a school administrator there was a bomb inside a black bookbag that would go off in one hour. Read More. |
