Charrier and Hernandez Selected as Employees of the Third Quarter at Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution

Torrington – The Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution (WMCI) is pleased to announce Officer Jason Charrier and Programming Assistant Nelly Hernandez as Employees of the Third Quarter

Officer Jason Charrier began his career with the Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) at WMCI January 12, 2011. Charrier is stellar when it comes to taking care of things in the Intake Unit with little direction or additional supervision. He is able to multitask with the best. Charrier always takes the initiative to complete daily tasks for new and transfer inmates while ensuring daily tasks and routines are accomplished.

Charrier maintains a superlative sense of dedication and pride in his work and is always willing to train other staff. He continually demonstrates the mission and core values of the WDOC. No matter the challenge(s) Charrier may face on a daily basis he always conducts himself in a professional manner.

Charrier continues to complete all requirements to remain weapons qualified as well as maintain his Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification. He is always willing to learn new things and continues to provide his supervisor with ideas for improving upon the intake processing of inmates.

Charrier is very family oriented. He balances his work with his family life which also includes time with his church family alike. Charrier enjoys hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors.

Programming Assistant Nelly Hernandez began her career with the WDOC at WMCI November 14, 2011. Hernandez demonstrates drive and determination through her effective and artful management of time and energy while doing her job. With an upbeat and positive can-do attitude she brings out the best in others.

Hernandez is a breath of fresh air who can always be counted on to bring a smile to a face with the compassion she expresses and a chuckle to those in need during a busy day. She is often observed to be leading by example while being very solution oriented or proactive.

Hernandez is always observed as being humble in the recognition of her efforts as having an important role on her team, the organization, and the community. She is commended for being a life-long learner.

Hernandez is a very family oriented person who always shows genuine care and concern for both her immediate family as well as her extended family by her active involvement in their lives.

WMCI congratulates both employees, and extends best wishes to them for their continued success.
