Stun guns didn't cause death after prisoners' fight, autopsy shows |

IONIA COUNTY, MI - Ionia County Prosecutor Kyle B. Butler said Thursday that stun guns are not listed as a cause of death for a prisoner Dustin Allen Szot, who died in September. Szot, 24, of Muskegon, was incarcerated at the Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in Ionia. A fight between Szot and another prisoner started just after noon Sept. 27, 2016. The two prisoners continued to fight after being asked to stop, and corrections staff deployed a Taser to each of the two in an effort to break up the fight, according to the Department of Corrections. Szot was taken to see healthcare but he was pronounced dead later in the day. Read More. |
