Kewanee Youth Center Ready to Reopen as Re-entry Facility |

KEWANEE. Ill - The Illinois Department of Corrections is launching the first life skills re-entry center in Kewanee. It’s part of Ill. Gov. Bruce Rauner’s plan to reduce the prison population and restructure the state’s criminal justice system The facility will offer educational courses as well as job readiness and therapy classes to offenders who have one to four years left on their sentence. They will also learn skills to help them re-enter society, like how to manage a bank account, use the latest technology and schedule medical appointments. Read More. |
