Woman attempts to help 2 inmates escape from DCDC

A woman attempted to help two Douglas County Department of Corrections inmates escape Wednesday morning.

Police said Veronica Ibarra, 34, of Omaha, drove her SUV into the secured area around 10:45 a.m. She alleged told employees she was with MS Services, a faux contract inmate-transportation service.

When Ibarra got into the garage, she was confronted by corrections staff members due to her suspicious behavior.

Ibarra did not have any supporting documentation or credentials and asked DCDC employees to bring Jesus Villegas-Murillo, 45, of Omaha, and Alberto Cortes, 36, of Omaha out for transportation.
