Inmate brawl in Union parish leads to attempted 2nd degree murder charge |

UNION PARISH, La. - A state Department of Corrections inmate serving time at Union Correctional Center in Farmerville is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge after stabbing another inmate. Twenty-five-year-old Jory Williams Jr. was charged with attempted second-degree murder after stabbing inmate 43-year-old Cornelius Lazard in the early Monday morning. According to Sheriff Dusty Gates Lazard was getting the best of Williams in an altercation between the two when Williams pulled a knife and began chasing Lazard, stabbing him in the back as he ran away. Detectives reported that the incident was caught on video and showed Williams flushing the knife down a toilet after the stabbing. Read More. |
