An inmate who faces execution for the eighth time on Thursday over a murder-for-hire slaying in 1982 insists he 'won't give up' fighting for his innocence. Tommy Arthur, 75, was convicted of fatally shooting Troy Wicker in the eye while he slept at his home, after being hired by Wicker's wife to kill him. He has had his execution postponed seven times since 2001, prompting victims' rights advocates to derisively call him the 'Houdini' of death row.
