Few details available a month after Lake County inmate's death

Susie Boone’s son was dead, and she had questions that the person calling from the Florida Department of Corrections said she couldn’t answer.

Adonis Boone was her only son. He was 27, in prison at the Lake Correctional Institution near Clermont on convictions of drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon, unarmed robbery and battery. He was set to leave prison and return to Tampa in late 2018. But on June 8, Susie Boone got a call saying he was dead.

“I kept asking her, ‘How?’ and she kept telling me that she couldn’t give me that information,” she said. “… I just want to know how he died. What happened? What happened to the person that did it to him? Was he laying on the floor? I just need to know, what happened to my child?”
