County names its first director of corrections |

The deputy director of the Douglas County Department of Corrections will lead Sarpy County’s effort to create its own corrections department. The appointment of Papillion resident John M. Hubbard as the county’s first corrections director was announced Friday. Hubbard will guide the county through the process of transitioning to a jail system administered primarily by civilian corrections officers instead of sworn deputy sheriffs. Hubbard has more than 36 years of experience in corrections, having served 22 years in senior leadership, including two stints as interim director of the Douglas County system. Read More. |
