Spectrum to run Virginia prison drug abuse program |

Worcester-based Spectrum Health Systems has been awarded a new contract by the Virginia Department of Correction to implement a substance abuse treatment program at a prison in Greenville, Va. The program, Community Corrections Alternative Program, serves offenders with moderate to severe substance abuse disorders at the Cold Springs Correctional Unit. The program houses 100 offenders in a dormitory setting with the capacity to double in size if needed, according to a press release. The program features a minimum of 300 hours of evidence-based programming per person with a focus on cognitive and behavioral skills training and positive reinforcement. Read More. |
