Nevada to send 200 inmates to Arizona prison |

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada will send 200 inmates to an Arizona prison after state officials approved a $9.2 million contract with a private corrections company. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the state board of examiners on Tuesday approved the two-year agreement with CoreCivic Inc. The contract comes as the state's overburdened corrections system is facing a bed shortage. Officials with the state Department of Corrections say the more dangerous and destructive inmates have been targeted for relocation to the Saguaro Correctional Facility in Eloy, Arizona.
