Correctional deputy assaulted by inmate at county jail |

On Tuesday, an inmate at the San Luis Obispo County Jail physically assaulted a 26-year-old Correctional Deputy. As the Correctional Deputy was gathering inmates to take them to another part of the jail, one of the inmates charged at the Correctional Deputy and began punching him multiple times around the head and face, according to the jail. The Correctional Deputy was able to subdue the inmate while other deputies arrived at the location to assist. The Correctional Deputy was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
