Once Deemed ‘Unadoptable,’ Pit Bull Mix Ghost Is Now Washington’s First Deaf K-9 |

From the streets of Florida to Washington state service, the past few years have been a wonderful whirlwind for a 2-year-old pit bull mix named Ghost. Ghost’s life had a rough beginning. As a puppy, he was found as a stray in Florida, where animal control officials listed him as “unadoptable” because he was deaf, had a lot of energy and could be indifferent toward people, according to KIRO7 and KING5. But the nonprofit Swamp Haven Rescue of Saint Augustine, Florida, wasn’t going to give up on the puppy.
