Individual Misidentified as Escapee |
By Colorado Department of Corrections |
Published: 04/13/2018 |
A person extradited from Texas to Colorado was misidentified as offender Manuel Villa #46528, wanted by the Colorado Department of Corrections for a 1996 escape. All individuals entering the CDOC are fingerprinted and identification validated during the intake process at the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center (DRDC). When the person was fingerprinted at DRDC, a discrepancy was found, the finger prints did not match those of offender Manuel Villa # 46528. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation was contacted and processed the fingerprints with the same results. The arresting agency was then contacted and asked to review the fingerprints taken during their booking process and they confirmed the person arrested was not offender Manuel Villa #46528 but another person that was misidentified. |
