Authorities have released additional details surrounding a Habersham County inmate’s death.

As previously reported, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office following the Monday death of the in-custody inmate, identified in a press release as Robert Mosely, 38, of Highlands, North Carolina.

As stated in The Northeast Georgian’s Weekend edition, Mosely was transported to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency, later suspected as being a methamphetamine overdose.

“A search of the jail was conducted and methamphetamine was recovered,” the release stated. “The investigation revealed that both inmates and persons outside the jail were responsible for the methamphetamine being brought into the jail.”
