MARCY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Six officers were sent to the hospital with injuries sustained in an 'unprovoked' attack by an inmate, according to the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association The incident occurred on May 8 inside the Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy. The NYSCOPBA says two officers were conducting a search of an inmate and his living quarters. While the inmate was initially compliant with being frisked against, he then suddenly turned and pulled out a metal ice pick-type weapon from his waistband. Read More. |
