A Jacksonville man in jail on alcohol charges was arrested again Monday in connection with the assault of a detention officer. Laterrio Tavon Doss, 22, formerly of 14 Tallman St. in Jacksonville, was charged by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office Monday with felony attempted escape from the county jail and misdemeanor assault on a government employee. According to OSCO Maj. Chris Thomas, Doss allegedly charged a detention officer and escaped from his cell into the block area, although the area was secured and he would not have been able to escape.
