| Procession for corrections officer who died months after inmate attack, takes place Monday |

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A procession is planned to honor a correctional officer who died five months after being assaulted by inmates. On Monday, Sept. 24, a multi-agency procession will escort Armando Gallegos' body from the coroner's office to a chapel in Visalia. The route for the procession will begin at the coroner's office, head north on Mount Vernon Avenue, then head west on Highway 178, then go north on Golden State Highway before going northbound on Highway 99.
