| Fort Dodge Correctional Facility inmate death is likely suicide |

An inmate who was serving a prison sentence at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility has died of an apparent suicide, the Iowa Department of Corrections has announced. Matthew Earl Rausch, 31, was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m. Monday at UnityPoint–Trinity Regional Medical Center, the department said. Rausch had been serving a term of up to 30 years — two consecutive 15-year convictions — for being a habitual offender, including burglary and other crimes from Woodbury County.
