Operation Blackout warns sex offenders not to participate during Halloween activities

Halloween is just over a week away, but before children dress up as their favorite ghoul or goblin, officers want to make sure you and your family are safe from predators.

Officers in Tennessee will be conducting pre-Halloween checks.

They will visit the homes of more than 3,100 registered sex offenders across the state, which includes over 100 homes in Hamilton County and 40 in Cleveland in Bradley County.

This is done through a state-wide program called “Operation Blackout” and a similar program monitors over 200 offenders across the state line in Whitfield County.
