YPSILANTI, Mich. — A new training facility that aims to teach up to 180 incarcerated women in Michigan broke ground Monday morning. Outgoing Gov. Rick Snyder helped kick off the construction with a ceremonial groundbreaking for the first women's vocational village at the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility. This marks the third vocational village within the Michigan Department of Corrections. “Let’s give opportunity to be on the leading-edge things, because those are some great well paying, high demand careers,” Snyder said.
