BOP Limits Inmate Phone Calls

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons has limited federal inmates' phone calls to 300 minutes per month to deter prisoners from abusing phone privileges or carrying on illegal activities. The new rule, which took effect Monday, applies to 140,000 inmates in the federal prison system. Previously inmates could make as many calls as they wanted.
