Three inmates from Philadelphia have been charged with homicide, accused of running a drug ring inside the state prison in Pittsburgh that led to a fellow inmate's fatal heroin overdose. William Feaster, 34; Seth Freeman, 25; and Julius Postell, 25, were arraigned yesterday on charges of criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy and contraband in the April 7 death of Mathew Schreckengost. Schreckengost, serving a life sentence for first-degree murder, was found dead in his cell. State police said they linked the men to the drug ring based partly on information from a former prison secretary who is awaiting trial on criminal charges for allegedly smuggling heroin into the prison. The men all were serving time for robbery, prison spokeswoman Carol Scire said. |
