FBI To Question Men Held In Seminole, Orange Jails
By WKMG (Orlando, FL)
Published: 09/19/2001

Three men are being held in the Seminole and Orange county jails Monday for the FBI, possibly in connection with the terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington and Pennsylvania last week, according to WKMG News.
The names of the men were not released as of 6 p.m. Monday, and officials wouldn't say if they considered them to be suspects, material witnesses or if they even knew the hijackers.
Seminole County sheriff's spokesman Steve Olson confirmed that someone was being held at the jail for the FBI, but he wouldn't say if the man had been arrested or if he was just wanted for questioning.
The man was recently brought into the jail, and security at the facility has been increased.
FBI officials at the field office in Tampa, Fla., and headquarters in Washington would not comment on who the man is or why he is being held at the jail.
The Seminole County Jail has a contract with the FBI and routinely holds prisoners for them, according to WKMG Local 6 News.
Meanwhile, two men are also being held in the Orange County Jail Monday for federal authorities, according to Orange County spokesman Allen Moore.
The two men are being held in separate locations -- possibly in solitary confinement -- inside the jail so they cannot communicate with each other. The men are also not allowed to talk to anyone outside the jail.
Extra security measures have also been implemented at the Orange County Jail, although specifics were not released.
It wasn't immediately known when the two men were picked up or when federal agents would arrive at the jail.
FBI agents have scoured Florida since Tuesday's terrorist attacks, looking for possible evidence or witnesses.
